Why Choose Shanell

I have over 20 years of experience in Leadership Development, Recruiting, Human Resources, Operations, Communications, and Marketing. I have worked with other Leadership Bodies in and around the city to help them grow their organizations, increase participation and their overall impact in the city. I have managed budgets that have far exceeded that of the Library’s current budget. I know how to effectively run an organization, motivate a team, and ensure goals are met.

Finally, I have the ability to bring my own passion and garner the passion of others that want to see the Library thrive as an integral asset of the city. I have also worked in start-ups and organizations needing a turnaround and have garnered success in those situations. I will bring all of these attributes to my role as a Trustee of the Pontiac Public Library.

Why are you interested in being part of the Library Board?

I am seeking to become a Trustee of the Pontiac Public Library Board because as a Pontiac Resident, and Parent and mentor to young children in this city, I am committed to seeing the library grow; grow its utilization, presence, and impact in the communities which it serves. I want to ensure the Pontiac Public Library is a source for enrichment for members of the Pontiac Community by providing opportunities and resources for individuals of all ages and backgrounds to learn, grow, connect, and discover. I also want the library to offer comparable if not better amenities, and resources as those in surrounding communities. As a Trustee of the Pontiac Public Library Board, I will work diligently with my other board members to see these things realized.
